Placed right in the center of Arad city, the Cathedral was built between 1902-1903, in the place of an old baroque church, after the plans of the architect Emil Tabacovici.
The entrance is framed by four massive columns and by the reproduction of the “Pieta” statue by Michelangelo. The tower is 56 meters high and is flanked by two angels. The shrine painting was done by Gyorgy Vastagh and it represents Saint Anthony, the patron of the church.
