Description
The building has long been the noble residence of Konopi domain. During the second half of the eighteenth century, it was besieged by peasants in an uprising. The castle of considerable proportions was rebuilt a few years later and after 1800 it turned into a neoclassical style structure.
Most valuable architectural elements are the facade of the castle, a beautiful staircase rising to the spacious terrace, surrounded by columns with a Corinthian style, supporting a richly decorated pediment. From the terasse one can enter the main saloon of the castle, rectangular shaped.
In recent years the castle was used as a children's camp. It was currently leased by a private company that will take care of its restoration. Around the castle there is a spacious park where we can find all kinds of trees: sycamore, oak, ornamental shrubs, etc.
