The Puppet Theatre from Arad was established in 1951 by Cristian Frangopol. The inaugural show, "The Enchanted Galoche", took place on May 7th, 1951. The cast that brought the characters to live was, as follows: Elena Gherdan, Olimpia Didilescu, Puica Marin, Florica Mihăilescu, Maria Frangopol, Elena Atanasiu, Elena Caroviţă, Astra Lumcovschi and Elena Birta, directed by Sanda Diamandescu and Alexandru Frangopol, which also signed the stage direction, together with A. Brătășanu and A. Wilke, as production designers.
