It is said that the wooden church in Luncșoara was moved from the small village of Crăciunești in its current location in 1835. The church went through a series of repairs and renovations during the 19th and 20th centuries. The interior paintwork is credited to Ioan Demetrovici, artisan painter. The church owns valuable artifacts like a wooden ark, the icon of Saint George holding in his hand the cross of faith and the spear of justice, a glass icon from Nicula dating from the 18th century.
