The wooden church in Bodești was built around the year 1760 and restored several times (the most recent work took place in 1957). Some icons are three centuries old. In the church’s courtyard, some outstanding personalities of the cultural life from the Arad region, like Nicolae Butariu and professor Traian Mager (1887 – 1950), the monographer of the Hălmagiu region, are resting in peace.
