Măderat (village belonging to the city of Pâncota) has one secular tree with the complete name of Sequoiadendron giganteu (gigantic sequoia). It comes from the continent of North America and it has been brought here by the baron Jozsef Dietrich. Around the year 1840, the baron took a trip to North America, returning with three special trees, from which only one survives nowadays. That tree, located in the vineyards of Măderat, is 160 years old, standing at 35 meters tall, with a diameter of 5 meters.
